7 Things Nigerian Men Want From Their Women

One thing we can all agree on is that relationships are beautiful. But they take a lot of work. Without certain things in place, it can be a bed of thorns for both parties. The best way to avoid this is by becoming a better partner, and for women, that includes having certain qualities on lock. This article will explore the things Nigerian men want from their women.

Don’t worry, it’s not a long check-list. Men, particularly those from Nigeria, are simple beings and, despite their differences, there are common grounds they agree on.

Here are 7 things Nigerian me want from their women:

  1. Respect: This is a non-negotiable for Nigerian guys. When a woman shows them respect through her words and actions, it grants them a special place in their heart. In Nigerian culture, respect is deeply ingrained, reflecting values like humility, deference to elders, and honoring traditional roles. Because Nigerian men grew up in such a clime, they tend to see a woman who respects their decisions, supports their ambitions, and treats their family with reverence as a keeper.

  2. Femininity: Sadly, this trait is becoming increasingly endangered in the “woke” world we live in today and this makes the remaining feminine women rare gems. Nigerian men want to be with women who act, speak, and dress like women. Tomboys or masculine women are a walking red flag for them. Think about it, why would a Nigerian man want to be in a relationship with a woman who isn’t in touch with her feminine nature? Exactly, no reason.
  3. Good Looks: There’s a popular saying – men are moved by what they see and no Nigerian man wants to be with a woman they can’t flaunt to their friends or family. So, to please your man, you should do your best in this department and that includes your dressing, hairstyle, skincare, and lifestyle habits. They don’t need you to be as gorgeous as Kim Kardashian or Beyonce or curvaceous as Amber Rose, but do your best to look good, dress well, pay attention to your skin, and stay in shape. You can’t be in your prime years and be looking like a mother of three and expect your man to still desire you.

  4. Great in the Kitchen: It’s no secret that men love food. If you can’t cook, most Nigerian men won’t take you seriously. Yes, it’s that important because knowing how to cook is a sign of proper upbringing and one of the ways to a man’s heart is his stomach. So, if you can create magic in the kitchen, that’s one point for you. On the other hand, if your man gets home after a long and stressful day craving a properly cooked meal and your first move is to always order food, he may change his mind about committing long-term.

  5. Loyalty: This is arguably the most important thing Nigerian men want from their women. Men are very territorial and can’t stomach the idea of someone else being intimate with their women either sexually or emotionally. Besides, they already deal with a lot of day-to-day problems and the last thing they want is a cheating partner to add to that. In fact, a Nigerian man will prefer a woman who’s not good on bed or in the kitchen over a lady who is not faithful. This may sound like double standards since men are also cheat on their partners, but the quickest way to lose your man is infidelity. The relationship may continue, but it will never be the same again and eventually, you both will get tired.

  6. Good Hygiene: While a man’s dirtiness can be overlooked, the same privilege doesn’t apply to women. Nigerian men are disgusted by women who are nonchalant about their hygiene. Things like bad breath, a foul-smelling genital, dirty clothes piled up for weeks, smelly armpits or hair can dampen a man’s attraction pretty fast. The bottomline is men want women who are intentional about their hygiene.
  7. Resourcefulness: Nigerian men want women who make their own money and have something going on in their lives. They wouldn’t want to end up with a parasitic person who’s always in need of basic things like body cream and data subscription.

If you’ve always wondered what men wanted in women, there’s your answer and, as you can see, they’re not out-of-this-world requirements. With these qualities, you should have no trouble keeping a man and earning his long-term commitment. And when you do, remember we told you so. Until next time!
